Conservation Specialist I

The Colonial Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for the position of Conservation Specialist I. This full-time employment position, being offered for a minimum of two years, will have the primary role of supporting and assisting senior staff with the
implementation of the Virginia Agricultural Cost Share Program, and other agricultural conservation programs. The successful candidate will work closely with other staff members to carryout program deliverables in support of the Commonwealth’s Chesapeake Bay restoration
goals.


Education and/or experience in agriculture, natural resources and/or environmental science preferred. Successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to use a computer effectively, be well organized and self-motivated. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Background check and drug screening will be required prior to any offer of employment.


Annual starting salary range of $45,074 - $48,803 is offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits to include paid sick and annual leave, paid holidays, participation in the Virginia Retirement System, and employer paid healthcare coverage. VACS Program Technician

The Colonial Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for the position of VACS Program Technician. This full-time employment position, being offered for a minimum of two years, will have the primary role of supporting and assisting senior staff with the

Outreach Specialist I

The Colonial Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is accepting applications for the position of Outreach Specialist I. This full-time position is offered for a period of two years with the possibility for extension pending programmatic needs and budget. The Outreach Specialist will have the primary role of developing and implementing the district’s outreach and marketing initiatives. The successful candidate will work both independently and in a team environment, accept additional duties as necessary, and proactively work with fellow staff to support outreach needs for current and future technical programming.


Education or experience in marketing and communication is required. Experience working with website development and both print and online content development is highly desirable. Successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, be well organized and self-motivated, and have experience working with diverse audiences. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Completion of a background check and drug screening will be required prior to any offer of employment.


Annual starting salary range of $45,074 to $48,803 is offered, commensurate with experience. The district offers a competitive benefits package including paid sick and annual leave, paid holidays, participation in the Virginia Retirement System, and employer paid healthcare
